Update on the Chronicles of Deception

For those of you who have been following the story of how our former pastor, James Kessler, spun a web of deception that culminated in the implosion of our former church (which I wrote about here), I wanted to provide an update.

Below, I’ve provided redacted copies of a BCO 31–2 that was filed against Kessler on August 10, 2024. In the Presbyterian Church in America, a 31–2 is an official judicial procedure requesting an investigation of a pastor. As you can see, members of other presbyteries joined as signers of the 31–2.

To my knowledge, Metropolitan New York Presbytery (the presbytery which Kessler is now under the jurisdiction of) hasn’t provided any response to this matter.

I encourage you to read the 31–2 in its entirety. If you have any position of leadership or influence in the Presbyterian Church in America and believe these testimonies, use your voice and make it heard.
